The University of Kentucky Athletics Department is currently seeking candidates for one graduate assistant position in the UK Athletics Hospitality. This position will assist one full time staff member in the coordination and operation 69 suites, three club areas, UK Athletic special events and external events in Kroger Field. The GA position has been posted on the UK Jobs and NCAA sites. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assisting in the day to day operations, setup/strike of assigned events. Staffing and supervision of over 30 staff members. Scheduling, setup/strike for assigned facility space(s). Physical labor & heavy lifting required at times. Upkeep and maintenance of assigned inventory, supplies, materials and equipment. This position will also have the opportunity to gain experience creating the best hospitality to BBN members and other special events. General office duties. Finally, other duties as assigned.
This is not a formal Graduate Assistantship through the UK Graduate School, however, this position will include a combination of tuition waiver and monthly stipend not to exceed a pre-determined allocation. Additional compensation over the summer months will be determined at the discretion/need of the athletics department.
The Graduate Assistantship is a two year commitment, renewable after the first year at the discretion of the athletics department.Please include three professional references along with the resume and cover letter.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Hospitality or Sports Management.
Written documentation of admission to the UK Graduate School in Sports Leadership or other departmental approved graduate programs.
Must be willing to work long hours including nights, weekends and holidays in addition to weekly office hours scheduled around university classes.
Availability to work all home football games is mandatory.
Additional Salary Information: This position will include a combination of tuition waiver and monthly stipend not to exceed a pre-determined allocation. Additional compensation over the summer months will be determined at the discretion/need of the athletics department.
