JOB DESCRIPTION Centre College invites qualified applicants for the full-time position of Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach. Reporting to the Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach, this position assists with various aspects of building a nationally-competitive men’s lacrosse program, including but not limited to: identifying and recruiting successful student-athletes, skill development during practices and games, monitoring student-athlete academic progress, building a positive and cohesive team culture, scouting, and other duties as assigned. Additional secondary duty to be determined.
This position requires compliance with all NCAA, SAA, and Centre College rules and regulations and to be mindful of the College’s core values of diversity and inclusion.
Previous collegiate coaching is required. A commitment to the Division III philosophy; knowledge of NCAA and SAA rules; and a demonstrated ability to recruit, retain, and mentor student-athletes and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations are essential. Additional qualifications include communication skills that allow for the ability to teach, motivate, and counsel student-athletes effectively as well as being self-motivated, positive, energetic, eager to teach, and a willingness to travel. Ability to work successfully within a team-oriented athletic department is essential.
