BIG WEST CONFERENCE POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT (May 31, 2019)
Director of Video and Digital Distribution
The Big West Conference, an NCAA Division I member, seeks a qualified individual for a full-time career position to manage and coordinate the video and digital activity of the office. The primary responsibilities of this position are technical in nature with an emphasis on collaboration and sharing best practices with the member institutions. Creative content development is a secondary responsibility.
Areas of Primary Responsibility
BigWest.TV– Manage the relationship between the Conference and its live event streaming platform provider. Coordinate with member institutions to improve the quality and content of campus produced live event coverage for this platform. Big West members are required to provide a live stream of all home men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball games not produced for distribution by Conference partner. Member institutions at their discretion may campus produce additional live event content for distribution on BigWest.TV.
Scouting Video Exchange– Manage the relationship between the Conference and its various scouting video platform providers (Synergy, VolleyMetrics, TeamXtreme). Video exchange occurs in the sports of men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, volleyball and women’s water polo. Coordinate with member institutions the quality of the video uploaded to each platform and ensure compliance with all deadlines and other Bylaw requirements.
Instant Replay– Manage the relationship between the Conference and its men’s and women’s basketball replay system provider. Coordinate, train, assign and evaluate the replay technicians for each home men’s and women’s basketball game. Ensure with each member institution’s facility and game management staff that the replay system equipment is maintained. Coordinate with the men’s and women’s basketball officiating programs the seamless hand-off of video post-game and manage system issues as necessary.
ESPN3 Productions– The Conference owns and maintains its own mobile production facilities and produces 60-70 live events annually for distribution on ESPN3. This position coordinates these facilities and the programming schedule with independent contractors producing the content. Is responsible for produced asset control including game archives and the uploading/sorting on FTP site. Facilitate production calls and coordination with campus facilities and game management. Maintain talent files (organizing and distributing) and a photo archive for production use (cutting, sorting and uploading).
Areas of Secondary Responsibility
Assist as needed with marketing and communication initiatives including social media (cutting and loading clips). Championship event administration as needed.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required.
Experience: Demonstrated experience in the field of digital video/photography including IT/Networking and DSLR. Demonstrated ability to facilitate groups of individuals without a direct supervisory responsibility.
Skills: Demonstrated proficiency working in Mac, Windows and Adobe Suite. Ability to edit in Premiere.
Office Hours: Monday through Friday with weekend and evening hours at times required. There is some travel associated with this position.

Participation in employer contributed profit sharing program begins January 1 after completing 12 months of service. Ten vacation days each calendar year beginning January 1.
