UNC Pembroke Softball invites applications for a Graduate Assistant (Pitching) Coach for Softball. Pitching knowledge and/or experience is preferred. The position is under the direct supervision of the Head Softball Coach and Athletics Department. Review of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree and qualify for admission into The University of North Carolina at Pembroke Graduate School. Candidates should possess a strong commitment to motivate, teach, counsel, and recruit student-athletes within the guidelines of UNC Pembroke, NCAA, and the Peach Belt Conference.
Essential Functions: Responsibilities include; assisting head coach in organizing and managing pitching and other phases of a DII softball program but not limited to; recruiting, team travel, strength and conditioning, game scheduling, budget management, summer camp instruction, etc. Organizing and managing all aspects of a DII Women's Softball Program. Coaching the student-athletes in preparation for competition and during competitions. Developing practice schedules and coordinate game day management. Assist aspects of summer camps and clinics. Create pitching workouts and individual workouts, based on the individual and staff needs. May assist with outfield/infield and hitting instruction. The graduate assistant coach for softball also serves as field manager, plus any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and prior softball coaching and/or playing experience. Appointment begins August 14, 2019.
