Casting for Recovery® (CfR) enhances the quality of life of women with breast cancer through a unique retreat program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing.
Casting for Recovery (CfR) and their Board of Trustees is seeking an Executive Director who will lead a team and program ready for planning and executing significant growth in revenue and retreats. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors and for the healing abilities of nature and camaraderie. They will be an active member of the fly fishing community, or have a demonstrated desire to understand and engage actively within the fly fishing industry.
A “must have” for the new Executive Director is a demonstrated track record in growing a fundraising (unrestricted) program, because, in the opinion of the search committee, CfR’s growth is limited only by its ability to raise more funds. The Executive Director must bring an entrepreneurial spirit, passion and empathy for the women CfR serves and understand the healing power of nature. The Executive Director must possess intellectual horsepower, and be naturally persuasive, fair, and accountable. The Executive Director will lead based on core ethics of collaboration, self-improvement, transparent communication, and the drive for excellence, to ensure that the best services are being delivered to the women and volunteers CfR serves. With a committed staff and Board, this is a phenomenal and rare nonprofit Executive Director leadership opportunity.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Trustees. In addition to operational, financial, and administrative duties, the scope of responsibility includes overseeing program management, fund development, marketing, community relations, and strategic thinking and planning. The Executive Director will build, foster, and maintain a balanced organizational culture that combines the richness and relevance of programs with the efficacy of best business practices, fiscal accountability, and institutional impact.
