Summary Description: Roles and Responsibilities •Assists in coaching duties for the Cross Country and/or Track & Field program within NCAA Division III as it relates to Cross Country and/or Track & Field. May specialize in one or more specific areas of coaching expertise and have demonstrated coaching experience in Cross Country or an event area of a Track & Field team program. •Assists with all aspects of recruitment and training of student athletes. •Assists in the overall organizing, preparing and conducting of individual and/or team practice, training, and competition, may also specialize in a key area of Cross Country and/or Track & Field. •Lead and assist in the organization, design and implementation of specific conditioning programs and/or training routines as appropriate to improve athletic performance as they relate to Cross Country and Track & Field. •Organize and lead the recruitment of student-athletes in accordance with NCAA and USA South rules through scouting, on-site attendance, and home visits. •Assists in monitoring and supporting student-athletes in their academic progress. •Be responsible for the planning and arranging of team travel and may perform other administrative duties as appropriate. •Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. •Recommend to our communications staff, athletes for recognition, including NCAA, and USA South awards and hold an end of season team function. •Abides by all NCAA and USA South rules •Completes the NCAA rules test annually. •Maintains current certification in CPR/AED training.

In-depth knowledge of applicable sports related playing rules.
Knowledge of NCAA rules governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
Knowledge of training routines and conditioning programs.
Compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required in this position
