K-State Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for a ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF HOSPITALITY AND SPECIAL EVENTS, which is a full-time, salaried, benefits-eligible position.
An example of job responsibilities includes but is not limited to the following:
•Create, manage and administer a successful Game Day Hospitality Program provide excellent customer service at athletic events to premium seat holders at West Stadium Center Suites, Boxes and Club Seats, the East Stadium Suites and Club Seats, the Bramlage Coliseum Loge Box and Courtside Seats, and Tointon Family Stadium Suites and Club Seats. Oversee game day food and drink budget; receive and facilitate special requests when appropriate and possible; determine food and drink needs and coordinate with Sodexo to provide premium seating areas with amenities as agreed upon, including hospitality workers with everything they need to provide superior service to premium seat holders
•Work with the Senior Director of Stewardship, Hospitality and Special Events on other department events (non-game/contest) such as Powercat Auction and Catbacker Tour and public tours and rentals of West Stadium Centers or at other facilities or out-of-town as required
•Interview, hire, train, schedule and supervise game day hospitality workers

Bachelor’s Degree at time of application
One to two years of successful professional experience providing hospitality to event customers and event planning
Experience providing excellent customer service
Experience interviewing, hiring, training, supervising and evaluating employees
Three or more years of experience in athletic game day event hospitality
Three or more years of experience interviewing, hiring, training, supervising and evaluating employees
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
Strong computer and organizational skills
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in strategic oral and written communications
Ability to always work with KSA employees, University departments and organizations, and public customers in a positive and helpful manner
Must be detail-oriented, dependable, know how to prioritize and possess the ability to successfully multi-task
Must have a valid driver’s license at all times
Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk up and down stairs
Must be able to lift/move 25 lbs.
