Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Athletics – Communications assist in managing all athletic communication needs within the Athletic Communications Office. Assist in all areas of comprehensive NCAA Division I athletics communications department in a customer- audience and oriented and professional manner. Serve as webmaster for the Athletics website. Write, edit and design pertinent Athletics Department publications for assigned sports. Participate in and provide shared leadership for all video operations for the athletics department, including live events, feature segments and interviews. Know, recognize and comply with the laws, politics, rules and regulations governing University and its employees, and the rules of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (“NCAA”) and the applicable conference, as now constituted or as they may be amended during the Term of this agreement. Employee shall take all reasonable steps to endeavor to ensure that all assistant coaches, and any other employees for whom Employee is administratively responsible, comply with previously mentioned policies, rules, and regulations.
-One year of full time Athletic Communications, Media Relations, Public Relations, or Sports Information experience in a college athletics, professional sports, or a related industry.
-Demonstrated experience writing and editing news releases, game recaps, social media content, game notes/previews and features
-Demonstrated experience in promoting teams, coaches and players to media sources
-Experience in serving as primary contact for assigned varsity sports
-Demonstrated experience in compiling statistics
-Demonstrated experience in maintaining and updating Athletics website
-Demonstrated experience supervising student staff in office and at events
