Reporting to the Senior Director of Development Services, the Manager, Development Services is responsible for maintaining, refining and reporting on the donor database of record. They will act as a leading subject matter expert for the Salesforce CRM, providing onboarding, ongoing training, and regular client support to a network of over 200 users. The Manager, Development Services will work closely with Development Leadership to support cohesive database usage, managing data quality and maintaining accuracy across the CRM.
Act as Audubon Development’s front-facing Salesforce ambassador, providing in-depth training and coaching on Salesforce for a base of 200 users. Create documentation for the system’s best practices; provide and execute regular maintenance solutions for donor data hygiene.
Partner with Development, IT and Finance Operations to manage the Audubon database, providing a cohesive, accurate and timely picture of donor information.
Maintain Audubon’s Development Business Practices, providing up to date, accurate, and user-friendly supporting documentation for all Development systems.
Generate reporting and analytics for the Development network. Deliver accurate gift and metrics reports on a biweekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
This includes, but is not limited to, generating analytics on current and historical Major Gift data, assisting with projection reports, and providing support for the individual front-line fundraisers as needed.
Handled Special projects as required.
Bachelor’s degree required, as well as a minimum 4-6 years working directly with donor data and/or information services at large, complex fundraising organizations. Must have comprehensive knowledge of current Development methodologies.
Demonstrated expertise as a trainer or customer service representative; ability to translate database lingo into fundraising friendly communications. The ability to disseminate complex information and business rules to a wide audience with varying skill sets is a must.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; must be able to effectively analyze, interpret, evaluate, and communicate simple and complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
Must have the ability to creatively problem solve, think strategically and to anticipate the impacts of decision-making across multiple departments. Willing to act with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must be flexible and willing to balance ambiguity with order.
Sound judgment and decision-making skills; exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work with highly confidential information a must.
Required proficiency with MS Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Certified Salesforce Administrators preferred; Salesforce experience is required.
