Belmont University is currently accepting applications for the position of Director of Athletic Marketing & Promotions. Under the supervision of the Associate Athletic Director of Marketing and Sales, this position develops and implements comprehensive marketing plans to increase attendance, create a positive and exciting game day atmosphere, and extend the overall brand of Belmont University Athletics. Responsibilities include:
•Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to increase fan engagement and attendance, including the creation, production, and oversight of all marketing, advertising, and promotional material.
•Plan, direct and activate all marketing, promotional, and game-day atmosphere elements of home competitions, special fan engagement events, and select post-season events, including but not limited to: in-game promotions; game scripts; half-time entertainment; special presentations; community group involvement; national anthem performances; game staff supervision; marketing setup/breakdown.
•In collaboration with University Marketing and the Director of Sales & Sponsorships, formulate and implement an advertising and communication campaign focused on increasing ticket sales and attendance for the sports of men’s and women’s basketball.
•Identify and develop partnerships with university departments, student organizations, community groups, and alumni to promote Belmont’s teams, increase student/faculty/staff/community awareness and attendance, and enhance marketing and sales efforts.
•Serve as an active, engaged liaison to the conference marketing committee and NACMA (National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators) to cultivate idea-sharing and relationship-building.
•Recruit, hire, train and supervise all marketing graduate assistants and interns, as well as student volunteers involved in marketing and promotional activities, including the Belmont Athletics Marketing team (BAM).
•Conduct annual end-of-year attendance evaluations and fan surveys in order to inform attendance goals and marketing/sales strategies for the coming year.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, graduate degree preferred; 3-5 years’ experience in the areas of marketing and promotions in an intercollegiate athletics program required; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; knowledge of creative concepts in intercollegiate sports marketing; skilled in designing and producing promotional materials with a strong attention to detail; ability to plan, organize, and execute special events; strong customer service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community; ability to manage student personnel, specifically graduate assistants, interns, and student volunteers; ability to work independently and approach projects with a creative, innovative mind; thrives in an environment of teamwork, collaboration, and hard work; proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as design software programs (i.e., Adobe Photoshop, etc.); ability to work extended hours, including games and events on evenings and weekends.
