The University of North Carolina at Pembroke currently seeks candidates for a Graduate Assistant Athletic Performance Coach. This is a nine (9) month position with the possibility of renewal. The primary function of this position is to manage the total athletic development of assigned teams. Design and implement proper, efficient, scientifically sound training programs for each assigned team. Work with sport coaches to assess specific needs of the team or on an individual basis. Instruct student athletes on proper and safe strength and conditioning techniques. Conduct workouts in a safe, efficient, organized manner in compliance with NCAA regulations. Assist in the coordination of daily operations of Athletic weight rooms (schedule, supervise, repair, cleaning, etc.). Any other duties assigned by the director of athletic performance. Position requires varied hours, which may include early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as necessary. Minimum qualifications: -Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field -Must pass a background check -Apply and be accepted into graduate school at UNCP
Preferred qualifications: All of the above along with -Completion of at least one (1) internship in the strength & conditioning field -CPR/AED certified -NSCA (CSCS) or CSCCa (SCCC) certification
Compensation is $8,000 per academic year (9 months). Expected contract start date is August 1st, 2019 and end April 26th, 2020
