Job Summary: Assists the Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator with the direction and supervision of the following intercollegiate program: Sprint Football. Assists in the implementation of practice sessions, contests, and team meetings. Represents the United States Military Academy (USMA) intercollegiate team and interests in a professional manner at all times. Interprets and administers rules and regulations, which govern the conduct of the sport. Provides guidance and counseling to cadet-athletes with regard to academics, military behavior, ethical, moral, and social responsibilities. Acts as a role model for cadet-athletes. Works with the staff of the Athletic Media Relations Office, the USMA Public Affairs Office (PAO), and the Army Athletic Association for the purpose of affecting a positive media image for the intercollegiate sport team, the Army West Point Athletic Association and the United States Military Academy. Responsible for recognizing, without supervision, circumstances which will require him/her to remain on duty.
Conditions of Employment:
1.A one-year probationary period will be required. 2.Meet all qualification/eligibility requirements. 3.Successfully complete all background checks. 4.Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. 5.The job position is considered temporary employment and is from on or about 1 August – on or about mid-November. 6.Assistant coaches are allowed to have another job as long as it does not interfere with coaching duties.

Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree or the indicated Sport (Football) experience as a coach in and educational, community or industrial sports program. Incumbent must be knowledgeable in the sport indicated above. This includes technical knowledge in all aspects of the indicated sport, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning, nutrition, flexibility, biomechanics, kinesiology and exercise physiology and the ability to instruct cadet athletes in these areas.
