Unpaid Internship for the Wake Forest Athletics Department (August 2019- May 2020).
The Wake Forest Athletic Department is offering an incredible opportunity that will arm you with the knowledge of how to generate revenue and become a valuable member of any collegiate institution. Our program will provide you with comprehensive experience while learning the importance of generating revenue through ticket sales and fundraising.
This internship will help you build the skillset needed to succeed in a collegiate athletics environment. You will learn through our main areas of focus which are systems, sales training, research, and selling. Selected interns will leave the program with a complete understanding of how to be a successful revenue generator in a Power 5 conference institution.
Now accepting applications from candidates interested in completing both phases of the program, starting August 1, 2019.
Phase One: Systems and Sales Training Interns will learn how to use Paciolan, Ballena, Salesforce, Blackbaud, and Advizor. Knowledge of these systems is critical to being successful in the sales environment. Interns will also shadow our revenue generation staff to learn techniques for how to maximize revenue generated from ticket sales and donations.
Phase Two: Research, Reporting, and Selling Learn about lead generation building on your knowledge of our systems gained during phase one. Learn how to research current sales trends and techniques. Learn about planning and implementing revenue generation events. Learn about game day interactions and how to develop relationships with current and prospective target opportunities.
Learning will take place with various staff members including the Assistant Athletic Director, Sales and Development, Director of Sales and Development and several account executives. Their roles are to educate interns on all aspects of the responsibilities under their area. Interns will participate in role play, and observe and shadow each supervisor.
At the conclusion of each phase, interns will document their learning experience and review the opportunity to continue to the next phase.
