Chowan University, an NCAA Division II institution, invites applications for an Assistant Softball Coach/Recruiter to work within a highly competitive program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: coaching, student-athlete recruitment and development, and the ability to work well with student, parents, faculty, staff and the community. In addition, the successful candidate should have the ability to develop and deliver admissions presentations to potential Chowan University students. The ability to communicate effectively one-on-one and to larger audiences is very essential. The successful candidate is also expected to maintain compliance with NCAA, NCCAA, conference, and institutional regulations. Finally, the successful candidate because of academic credentials and previous interaction with students in a learning environment, may be asked to teach up to three (3) credits during each academic semester. Preference will be given to candidates with 1-3 years of coaching experience and/or technical knowledge of pitching. A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field is required, a Masters a plus. Coaching experience at either the high school or intercollegiate level is preferred. An ability to demonstrate an appreciation for and commitment to the unique mission of a church related institution is expected.
