TowerHunter has been retained to identify candidates for a Head of Financial Reporting for a dynamic, growing company headquartered in Phoenix. Currently at $150M and 1000 employees, our client is on target to be at $500M and 2500 employees by the end of the year through organic growth and acquisitions.
Working closely with the CEO and CFO, this position will lead financial reporting, technical accounting, SEC reporting, SOX, and compliance activities for the finance organization. Will be responsible for all timely and accurate external reporting, including primary responsibility of 10-Q and 10-K and significant input to proxy and press releases. We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, results-oriented leader with a history of success in in accounting, SEC reporting, and compliance initiatives. This key leader will be a “hands on” manager and a passion to drive process improvement will be critical.
10 to 15 years of progressive experience in Corporate Accounting in a large publicly held company or a combination of public accounting and industry experience
Problem solving skills with a proven ability in creative thinking and issue resolution
Excellent communication (written/verbal), interpersonal, time management, and presentation skills
Proven leadership, relationship management with a wide variety of partners, collaboration, and interpersonal skills are required to perform the functions as described.
The ability to build credibility, trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. The ability to motivate, develop, and lead people to get results and improve upon operational effectiveness is required as is the ability to facilitate long-term success using cross-functional resources.
Strong process and project management skills with outstanding work ethics, a problem solver with "can-do" attitude
Excellent technical knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets and banking. A solid understanding of and exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley Sections 302 and 404.
