The Assistant Athletics Director of Compliance is responsible for monitoring the activities and providing educational training to all Athletics Department personnel and student-athletes to ensure compliance with NCAA and Conference by-laws, rules, and regulations. The position is also responsible for the coordination, development and preparation of materials for Compliance Meetings and educational efforts. This includes overseeing the management of the records within the Compliance Assistant website and the RU Compliance website, coordination of preseason paperwork and data entry, coordination of preseason meetings to complete Student-Athlete forms, updating team rosters, monitoring, approving, auditing and organizing all documentation (which includes but is not limited to CARA logs, phone records, and contact/evaluation log), updating the Compliance Manual, disseminating information to various staff, coaches and student-athletes, providing support to all investigative efforts, providing guidance to non-interpretive questions (i.e., institutional and Compliance office policies), and the monitoring of the Seasons of Competition information. Other duties include; serving as a liaison with various campus offices to include Admissions, Registrar’s Office, International Office, Financial Aid, and Student Accounts, attending meetings, conferences, and appropriate seminars to maintain knowledge of NCAA and Conference by-laws, rules, and regulations, and monitoring the guidance of Compliance staff and interns.
Must possess high standards of personal integrity and experience handling highly confidential materials and information with discretion. Must have experience communicating in multiple formats clearly, concisely and effectively. Must be detail oriented, organized and analytical. Must be able to work some nights and weekends. Ability to work with a diverse population and personalities. Experience working in an Athletics Compliance Office, Conference Office, or NCAA Compliance setting at the Division I level. Experience working with Compliance Assistant Software or equivalent. Must have advanced degree or training and work experience at a level which equates to an advanced degree.
Experience working with the NCAA Eligibility Center and website preferred. Preference given to candidates with previous NCAA Division I Compliance experience. Experience with ARMS or equivalent Software system.
