The Incumbent is a key member of the Integrated Development Team (IDT) who works in close partnership with assigned Development Officers and the Development Services Group (DSG) to plan, provide support for, and execute donor-centric relationship development strategies that facilitate philanthropy in support of the HBFF mission. The incumbent provides strategic guidance and day-to-day advice and information to Development Officers to assist in their efforts to understand and facilitate the philanthropic priorities of the prospective donors with whom they work. The incumbent also specifies and coordinates services and materials to be provided in support of the Development Officers within the context of the Fundraising Performance Imperatives Operating System. The incumbent also provides input into the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the technology, systems and processes that enable the organization to excel in high-performance fundraising.
Development Services Officer:
a. Provides proactive strategic direction and coordinates day-to-day operational support for Development Officers (DOs) with the goal of delivering the best possible donor experience and efficiently facilitating philanthropy.
b. Uses processes, tools and reports within the context of the Fundraising Performance Imperatives Operating System, including but not limited to:
· Daily Huddles with DOs and other members of the IDT
· Weekly and 60-day Planner Reviews with DOs
· Qx Reviews and Planning with DOs
· Incomplete Actions Follow-Up with DOs
· Weekly 100 List Call Result Reviews with DOs
· 30-Day Overdue Actions Reviews with DOs
· Preparation of DOs for Donor Calls
· Call Report Reviews/Editing
· Stage Gate Reviews
· Daily Activity Reviews and Planning
b. Specifies services and materials to be provided in support of the DOs and communicates such needs to the DSG supervisor
c. Works with the DSG supervisor and individual DSAs as appropriate to clarify expectations and specifications for materials as requested and to provide support and guidance for work in progress
d. Reviews all materials prepared for use by, or for distribution on behalf of the DOs before delivery or distribution to ensure quality, accuracy and appropriateness
Integrated Development Team:
a. Provides input for continuous improvement of information technology and process tools that enable DSOs and DSAs to better support frontline development professionals
a. Provides feedback and assistance to the Development Services Group Supervisor and the Development Services Associates
b. Participates in the monthly Qx development meeting
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent four years work experience plus four years of fundraising-related work experience
Significant experience with Raiser's Edge, CRM and relational database systems, office technology
Understands principles of Lean Six Sigma and quality systems such as TQM and TOC
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated people skills and leadership qualities
Experience using Microsoft Office programs including Excel
