Assist the head women's and men's track & field and cross country coach in all areas of coaching a competitive Division I collegiate program. This position’s responsibilities could include, but not limited to: Assist with instruction specific to the track & field and cross country program; Assist with monitoring practices; Assist/run practices under the direction of the head coach; Provide support and encouragement to promote the physical and mental well-being and safety of the student-athletes; Assist strength coach for weight training and conditioning practices; Recruit quality prospective student-athletes; Monitor social media of student-athletes; Assist with fundraising and community service; Advise and mentor student-athletes as appropriate; Other organizational and administrative duties as assigned by the head coach.
Must have effective professional working relationship with student-athletes, staff, administration, alumni and general public
Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and computer skills
Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize
Ability to teach and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Must have a commitment to NCAA compliance and follow all NCAA, conference and UND rules and regulations
Must have commitment to academic success of student-athletes
Must provide support and encouragement and ensure the safety and well-being of the student athletes including having a valid driver's license
2 years or more experience as a distance coach (volunteer, part-time or full-time) at the NCAA Division I, II, or III level
Valid Driver's License
Successful completion of a criminal records background check
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
2 years or more experience as a distance coach (full-time) at the NCAA Division I, II, or III level
4 years NCAA Division I, II, or III athletic experience as a distance athlete
Experience with administrative tasks including but not limited to: recruiting, travel, home meet administration
