The Manager, Major Gift Operations supports the Global Resources department in delivering on strategic fundraising initiatives, with a central focus on the Individual Giving team. This position ensures that systems and projects which support front-line fundraising are highly organized and optimized to increase revenue.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Advance leadership philanthropy at WCS by directing an executive portfolio tracking system for Individual Giving & Institutional Advancement teams. • In collaboration with front-line fundraisers, program staff and senior leadership, ensure that donor strategies for executive portfolios are being advanced in a timely manner. • Gather and monitor priority actions for the CEO. Work with Special Assistant to EVP to ensure timely and accurate preparation and follow-through on individuals on the CEO’s action list • Schedule, set agenda, and record donor strategy sessions both within individual giving team and with executive portfolio leads. • Work with research team to ensure that research is up to date on key major donors and that all prep work is sent out in an accurate and timely manner. • Support Individual Giving team in management and expansion of the WCS Council. • Ensure RMs have the most impactful communications. By working with Donor Comms to ensure they have the information needed to execute Individual Giving team’s report, proposal and other communication needs in a timely manner. • Identify, internally promote, and track strategic naming opportunities. • Understand Salesforce and its impact on RMs by proactively and regularly coordinating with Donor Services on continuous optimization of SalesForce for maximum usefulness. • Create and provide regular dashboards on pending proposals and solicitations with a particular emphasis on solicitations of 6 figures and above, track movement towards goals of increasing donors at 6 and 7 figure gift levels, Advise VP and EVP on highest expected and outstanding projections. • Coordinate ongoing professional development program for front-line fundraisers to significantly increase the team’s ability to connect our facilities to our broader mission.
• Bachelor’s Degree • 5 years related experience in the fundraising field. • Highly organized with strong detail orientation and follow up skills. • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities • Strong project management skills • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) • Proficiency with MS Office required; Experience with Salesforce highly preferred
