Centre College invites qualified applicants for the full-time position of Assistant Track and Field Coach. Reporting to the Head Track and Field Coach, this position assists with various aspects of building a nationally-competitive track and field program, including but not limited to: identifying and recruiting successful student-athletes, skill development during practices and meets, monitoring student-athlete academic progress, building a positive and cohesive team culture, and other duties as assigned.
This position requires compliance with all NCAA, SAA, and Centre College rules and regulations and to and mindful of the College’s core values of diversity and inclusion.
Bachelor’s degree required. Previous experience as a collegiate student-athlete or coach. A commitment to the Division III philosophy; knowledge of NCAA and SAA rules; and a demonstrated ability to recruit, retain, and mentor student-athletes and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations are essential. Additional qualifications include communication skills that allow for the ability to teach, motivate, and counsel student-athletes effectively as well as being self-motivated, positive, energetic, eager to teach, and a willingness to travel. Ability to work successfully within a team-oriented athletic department is essential.
