The Assistant Athletic Director of Development will advance the mission of Bowling Green State University through cultivation and solicitation strategies and personal interactions to secure philanthropic gifts from alumni and friends for funding initiatives of the Department of Athletics and the University’s Strategic Plan.
Essential Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities • Prospect Management- annual giving. Actively engage a prospect portfolio of 120-150 individuals/households to secure support for Intercollegiate Athletics, as well as other areas of the University, through personal visits as well as interactions during athletics and university events. Travel to attend events and cultivate prospects. Discover, cultivate, solicit, close, and steward donors for gifts of $5,000 - $25,000, with emphasis on acquisition, retention and upgrades for the Falcon Club Scholarship and Success Fund. Identify at least 25 new major gift prospects each year while making 180 face-to-face visits with donors and prospects. • Prospect Management- major giving. Work with athletic endowment donors, All-American Society ($25,000 annually) and Champions Circle ($11,200 annually) donors to develop and implement strategies for major gift proposals and multi-year commitments. • Team Fundraising Liaison. Serve as a liaison to specific sport teams, including Men’s & Women’s Golf, Ice Hockey and Swimming & Diving, with their fundraising priorities, as approved by the A.D. • Collaboration & Coordination. Participate in team meetings of Athletics and University Advancement to identify prospective donors, share call information and coordinate strategies to secure current-use, endowment and planned gifts in support of Athletics and BGSU. Collaborate through personal communication and electronic contact reports. • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Development or the Director of Athletics

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required in Business, Sports Management or related concentration. Successful candidate must have Bachelor’s degree conferred at the time of application. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and comply with the university’s vehicle use policy.
The following experience is required:
At least 2 years of alumni engagement and/or gift solicitation experience, preferably in Intercollegiate Athletics, Higher Education or other non-profit group.
Additional Salary Information: Full-time, Administrative staff position available. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Full benefit package available.
