The Assistant Golf Coach of the DBU Athletic Department is to provide instruction, strong leadership, motivation, and support of the Patriot Golf program. The Assistant Coach will provide support to the Head Coach in the administration and advancement of a NCAA Division II men’s and women’s golf program including coaching, recruiting, training, scheduling, budget management, academic support oversight, student-athlete discipleship, and marketing/promotion of program. The Assistant Golf Coach shall:
1.Provide servant leadership in the organization and management of the DBU Golf team. 2.Provide Christ-centered leadership to the student-athletes. 3.Administer the team in accordance with all applicable NCAA Division II rules and regulations. 4.Passionately recruit incoming freshman and transfer student-athletes who possess competitive NCAA Division II ability, understanding and appreciation for the Christ-centered mission of the University and athletic program. 5.In partnership with the Head Coach, schedule men's and women's tournaments in accordance with conference and NCAA guidelines. 6.Effectively manage operations budget in partnership with the Head Coach. 7.Effectively manage scholarship budget in partnership with the Head Coach. 8.Execute other various tasks and duties as assigned by the Head Golf Coach and Director of Athletics.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: The assistant golf coach should be a person devoted to Christ and possessing skills commensurate with the job. The coach should possess a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred. The coach should have experience at the advanced level of college coaching. The coach should also be familiar with NCAA Division II bylaws.
