Averett University, founded in 1859, located in Danville, VA, an NCAA Division III institution and member of the USA South Athletic Conference, invites applications for the full-time position as Head Softball Coach. The head coach will be responsible for management of all aspects of this Division III program including, but not limited to: day-to-day operations; scheduling of contests; recruitment and retention of quality student-athletes; fiscal planning; game strategy including practice and game coaching; supervising and evaluating of assistant coaches, and donor, alumni, community, video editing software, and media relations.
There will be secondary duties assigned by the Director of Athletics. The softball program must also be one that is in concert with the University’s mission and goals, in which student-athletes graduate and achieve competitive success. QUALIFICATIONS: •Bachelor’s degree and successful coaching, playing, and/or teaching experience is required. •Experience at the intercollegiate level is preferred. •Valid driver’s license and a clear driving record required.
