Position Summary: Represent Nova Southeastern University in all matters related to Sunshine State Conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association. Responsible for the internal operations of the department and oversight of a specified number of teams.
Acts as the principal liaison in the matters of business operations with the conference office and the NCAA.
Leadership and management of internal operations including all financial and business functions, human resources, facilities and event management equipment, and capital initiatives.
Mentors, supervises, and trains assigned staff.
Involved in the decision making process of intercollegiate athletics and aids in the responsibility of all internal affairs of the athletic department.
Member and contributor to the Institutional Self Study Guide Committee.
Aids in gathering of information for strategic planning, organization, and preparing reports.
Assists the Athletic Director in ensuring that athletic staff adheres to both University and departmental policies and procedures in order to maintain a department which is a positive reflection of Nova Southeastern University.
Works with budget office to prepare budgets for personnel operations.
Work closely with the Athletic Director on all fundraising initiatives, revenue generating opportunities, and corporate partnerships.
Works closely with the Athletic Director on capital and master planning; building strong positive internal and external relationships to support Athletic and University strategic goals and initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements: The successful candidate will possess the following credentials and experience:
Minimum of 5 years previous experience in intercollegiate athletics administration or related field.
Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of student-athletes, coaches, staff, administrators, and outside constitutes.
Must possess strong leadership and organization skills.
Demonstrate complex critical thinking ability.
Ability to manage and evaluate the work of others, prepare and present accurate and reliable reports, set direction and offer recommendations to achieve desired goals.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work with a diverse population.
Willingness to work outside of normal work hours in conjunction with athletic schedules, meetings, special events, and travel to athletic competitions, conference meetings, rules seminars, and national conventions and meetings.
