The University of California, Los Angeles is accepting applications for the position of UCLA Basketball Sports Nutrition Intern. The volunteer internship will begin in September 2019 and will be completed in June 2019. Duties will include assisting the full-time Performance Dietitian in all aspects of the UCLA Sports Nutrition program including but not limited to oversight of the Mo Ostin fueling station, Pauley Pavilion fueling station, body composition and hydration testing, cooking demonstrations, nutrition education sessions, department education, inventory, receiving/storage and overseeing training tables. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or a related field, with a strong desire to pursue a career as a Sports Dietitian. Registered Dietitian licensure is preferred, but not required. A minimum time commitment of 20 hours per week is required, with ability to work weekends and Holidays. This position is for a Volunteer Nutrition Intern and no compensation will be provided. Screening of applications will continue until position(s) are filled. Primary Responsibilities: •Coordinate with the Performance Dietitian on individual athlete nutrition needs for the Basketball teams •Stock and clean nutrition rooms daily •Receive deliveries and organize product placement in the Fueling Stations •Assist with Training Table and Fueling Station meals, working with both the Performance Dietitian and Director of Operations •Aid Performance RD with team education and nutrition/hydration assessment testing Secondary Responsibilities: •Opportunities to plan cooking demonstrations, team education talks, dining hall tours, grocery store tours, and more
