Concordia University Chicago invites applications for the position of Assistant Track & Field Coach. This position will be responsible for recruitment of qualified student athletes for the women's and men's track & field programs. This 12-month position includes ensuring compliance with CUC, NAC and NCAA Division III rules. Individual must be able to recruit academically qualified and athletically competitive student-athletes and to motivate them to realize their potential in the classroom and on the field.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching sprinters or/and jumpers for the track programs. Because of the inherent visibility of collegiate athletics on campus and in the greater community, it is expected that the coach will display excellent communication skills, Christian principles, and exhibit teamwork with other academic, student life and administrative divisions of the College and be an ardent supporter of the mission of the University. The coach will also work with the Assistant Athletic Director with academic success in the department.
Plan, organize, and implement a successful recruiting strategy for the track programs (women, men). Analyze performance and instruct athletes in techniques and strategies in preparation for and during athletics competition Work with the Assistant Athletic Director on academic success and study tables to support the student athletes Ability to establish positive relationships with student-athletes and maintain effective lines of communication with all students, head coach and Director of Athletics A commitment to continued professional growth and to the mission and values of a church-related liberal arts college are expected
Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred
Additional Salary Information: Starting range is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience.
