The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) invites applications/nominations for the position of Business Manager. This position reports to the Commissioner and the Senior Associate Commissioner for Administration & Compliance. 1.Prepare payroll and GL payroll entries. 2.Oversee the accounts payable functions within the conference ensuring accurate and efficient operations. 3.Ensure the general ledger is maintained accurately for final reporting purposes and in compliance with MEAC and Generally Accepted Accounting Standards. 4.Research, review, and report on special accounting projects during the year. 5.Assist in preparations and schedules for the annual financial audit. 6.Effectively and professionally communicate with the Commissioner, conference staff and MEAC member institutions regarding financial matters. 7.Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts; prepare monthly financial statements. 8.Analyze and reconcile expenditures and revenue accounts, to include investment reports, Special Assistant Fund, Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund, NCAA Conference Grant, NCAA Basketball Distributions, etc. 9.Make wire transfers and journal funding transfers and reconcile monthly bank statements. 10.Monitor grant revenues and expenditures. 11.Calculate and prepare reimbursement billings and track receivables; reconcile monthly accounts receivables. 12.Prepare and file annual financial statements. 13.Assist with the preparation of the annual and mid-year budgets. 14.Perform other duties of a similar nature or level. 15.Ensure that expenditures do not exceed the financial budget yearly. 16.Review and recommend hotels for Conference meetings. 17. Responsible for all basketball tournament financial matters i.e. ticket sales, vendor sales, catering, etc.
Furthermore, the Business Manager is responsible for any other duties as assigned by the Commissioner and/or the Senior Associate Commissioner for Administration & Compliance.
