A unique opportunity has been announced by Vital Strategies. We are seeking an individual with major gifts experience and an innovative flair for raising money to bring their expertise as the organization strives to find global solutions to the leading causes of death, disease and injury.

Vital Strategies, a global international non-profit, partners with governments to design and implement public health initiatives that bridge the gap between public health needs and solutions, especially in low- and middle- income countries. With a team of leading experts, the organization is making great strides in saving lives through its unique approach to strengthening public health systems around the world. We focus on issues that are drivers to poor health and injury such as: road safety, obesity, tobacco control, and cardiovascular health.
Scope of Work
The consultant will partner with the CEO and collaborate with members of the Executive team to:
Research and cultivate new individual donor and corporate partners that do not compete with current Vital Strategies or partner initiatives.
Based on guidance from the CEO, develop and execute strategies for the solicitation, and stewardship of new donors.
In collaboration with Marketing & Communications, prepare marketing materials and general communication pieces that will attract individual donor and corporate partners who care about improving the health and saving the lives of people across the globe.
Establish procedures for tracking and qualifying prospects and for recording and reporting gifts. In collaboration with in-house counsel, ensure that existing gift acceptance policies are followed.
Provide monthly ROI reports.
The consultant should have a significant track record in fundraising. S/he will have demonstrable success in managing a high value and diverse portfolio of donors.
Genuine passion for and ability to articulate the values and mission of Vital Strategies.
Excellent communication skills in English with a highly persuasive and creative writing style and the confidence to build relationships with donors.
Prior work in public health sector preferred.
