The University of Connecticut Division of Athletics is seeking qualified applications for a paid internship position in the Equipment Services area. This position will work primarily in the Field House Equipment Room assisting the following programs: Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Rowing, Field Hockey, Men’s and Women’s Track and Field. There will also be an opportunity to assist on a limited basis with our Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs. Direct responsibilities will include the cleaning and distribution of laundry for games and practices; supervising student workers; assisting in preparation of team uniforms; assisting with home game operations, inventory and procurement of goods, oversight of all daily deliveries as well as other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; student or post graduate experience in an FBS/FCS Athletic Equipment Room; general knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; ability to work irregular schedules such as nights, weekends and holidays; excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Member in good standing with the Athletic Equipment Manager’s Association and either certified, or working towards certification; Master’s Degree.
