National trade association in Washington, DC is seeking a Meetings & Events Manager for their Meetings team. Responsibilities include:
Provide key support in the planning and execution of two annual conventions: actively participate in all planning phases of major conventions as part of Meetings team; manage the registration process and assist in the promotional campaign/conference website; assist in coordinating meeting room and exhibit hall logistics; oversee/coordinate convention shipments and on-site registration desk, and many other duties. The Meetings Manager will also produce multiple smaller meetings and all in-house meetings, including vendor/venue research, negotiate agreements/contracts, follow-through on meeting specifications and logistics.
Requirements: BA/BS and minimum 2 years meeting planning experience strongly preferred. Prior association experience is desired. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Outlook required. Experience with Netforum database is a plus. Some travel required. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required. Successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, be highly self-organized, able to self-prioritize and work well under pressure. Competitive salary, excellent benefits and Metro location.
