This key addition to our staff will be a proven and thoughtful leader, decorated fundraiser, and strategic relationship builder to add to an already dynamic and growing staff. Initiatives and responsibilities focus on soliciting and securing major gifts of the six and seven figure range and assisting with the implementation of strategic procedures and best practices for the athletics development unit in its entirety.
Responsibilities include: a) cold call qualifications, b) identify and complete cultivation tasks, c) create strategies leading to solicitation and closure, d) create gift and pledge agreements, e) identify and complete stewardship tasks, f) maintain accurate records in the ADVANCE database system, g) supervise the Assistant Director for Data Analytics and Financial Operations and, h) oversee: the athletics development team prospect and portfolio strategy process and discussions.
As a leader within our unit, this role will be counted on to foster positive relationships with both internal University partners and external alumni, parents, and friends of Pitt Athletics. Incumbent will report directly to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development, and work in partnership with the entire athletics development staff, Director of Athletics, and Executive Associate Athletics Director for Philanthropy and Engagement, to serve Pitt Athletics as we progress through a successful campaign and beyond.

Bachelor's and Master’s degrees required. Superior verbal and written skills. Must be able and willing to travel extensively outside of the Western Pennsylvania area. At least eight years in a major gift environment, evidence of successfully building a portfolio through cold calls, evidence of major gifts closed from cold call activity, interaction with directors, academic deans, department heads and faculty in a development context.
