The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) is seeking a Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Corporate Sponsorships. This role is responsible for managing the fulfillment of the APIC Strategic Partner Program and providing corporate support for APIC conferences, Industry Perspectives, and educational programming. The Manager is also responsible for supporting the overall business development plan for APIC, including administrative support, support with selling and fulfilling event-related exhibit space, sponsorship opportunities, and digital advertisements.
Major Responsibilities include:
Cultivate and manage key relationships with existing and prospective corporate partners.
Support the Director in the management of key prospects, construct a pipeline of desirable prospects, and develop company-specific approach plans.
Coordinate strategic partner and sponsor fulfillment for APIC Annual Conference, Strategic Partner Forum, Applied Learning Conference, and other APIC outreach programs.
Identify specific partner interests; create customized corporate solicitation strategies based on strategic and marketing objectives.
Track and be knowledgeable about strategies, current engagements, and next steps for all prospects in the pipeline; assist in the prioritization and execution of strategies and serve as a strategic thought partner.
Draft memorandum of agreement for internal and external review and signatures; manage and facilitate invoice process.
Conduct prospect research, analyze, and recommend best prospects to the Director.
Maintain accurate and updated records of main contacts and revenue projection pipeline.
Collaborate with technical staff to standardize and systematize routine reports on program activity.
Participate in short and long-range strategic planning to achieve department goals and accommodate corporate support interest, in partnership with the Director.
Assist the APIC Strategic Partnerships & Corporate Sponsorships team by providing sales support, reporting, writing and assistance with prospecting, strategic planning, and administrative support.
Support event and trip activities.
Schedule and coordinate logistics for strategic partners, annual conference, and applied learning conference, including assisting in various stages of project management.
Responsible for ensuring a process is in place for tracking partnership activities.
Prepare PowerPoint presentations for bi-annual leadership forum and other occasions.
Follow up with sponsors regarding deliverable deadlines.
Provide customer service to partners; respond to emails and voicemails.
Set up, participate in, and follow up on conference calls and face-to-face meetings.
Coordinate deliverables, invoicing, proper coding, and processing for partners.
Communication and Marketing
Draft a range of strategic documents important to advancing APIC relationships with high-level partners and prospects.
Assist in developing high-quality, custom materials for prospects and partners, including proposals, presentations, reports, and other communications.
Support preparation and follow up for events and prospect/partner meetings.
Review and manage content within APIC and Industry Perspectives websites regularly.
Develop eblast content and schedule eblasts in collaboration with Marketing.
Effectively communicate with prospects and partners in person.
Support preparation and follow up for events and prospect/partner meetings with director and APIC staff.
APIC is seeking an individual with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent training plus 3-5 years of experience in sponsorship, sales, marketing, development, event management, and execution. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and focused, with excellent writing, organizational, and project management skills and keen attention to detail. Experience with social media, partnership development, and building a sponsorship or similar sales program is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel, Smartsheets, iMIS, as well as an understanding of a CRM system is preferred.
