Grand Canyon University is currently seeking a part-time Graduate Assistant to provide administrative support for Men’s Soccer Operations. The graduate assistant will be involved in supporting the development of work processes and new initiatives.
Oversees all aspects of team travel (hotels, transportation, meals, team building activities, etc.) Film Exchange:
Adhere to all NCAA and WAC rules in regard to film exchange Post and receive games in a timely manner on software Monitor all film exchange equipment to make sure all is updated and functioning correctly Film Editing and Computer Programs Equipment:
Place equipment orders as directed by head coaches Monitor and organize all incoming orders Distribute all equipment to players and coaches Report all shortages and problems to head coaches Facility
Communicate changes/issues with Head Coaches Coordinate visiting teams practice/shoot around times Coordinate meeting of opponents for times when using soccer facility Make sure facility is accessible with appropriate set-up Recruiting
Assist the head coaches and assistant coaches with on-campus recruiting activities for official and unofficial visits as assigned Managers
Secure managers for the upcoming season Ensure that managers are covering laundry, practices, and film of games Organize, communicate, enforce, oversee all responsibilities throughout all individual workouts, practices, and games Schedule manager(s) to travel to away contest Work with department assistant to ensure managers are compensated Make sure the managers duties are compliant with NCAA regulations that are set for student managers Monitor manager’s dress code for all practices, workouts, and games Assist with responsibilities as needed (i.e. gym set up, equipment, clock, video equipment for all practices) Administrative Duties
Communicate updates, changes in schedule, etc. to players and staff members Obtain per diem for student-athletes during travel and school break Game Management
Ensure locker room is set-up for both home and visiting team Ensure court is set up for visiting team practices and shootarounds Deliver film to opposing teams and officials, if requested Community Service
Organizes all program community service activities Reports all community service activities to proper personnel within the athletic department Other
Any other duties assigned by head coaches to facilitate fundraising, marketing, banquets, or community service Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in GCU master’s program. Must be able to maintain academic GPA of 3.0 Work during normal business hours, maximum of 20 hours per week Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
