St. Lawrence University invites applications for a full-time, seasonal (11 months) Strength & Conditioning Coach. The head strength & conditioning coach will be responsible for designing, organizing and directly training our DI men’s and women’s hockey programs and will provide design, supervision and consultation with 30-Division III sports. This position will also supervise and monitor a brand new 10,000 square foot facility. The strength & conditioning coach will also be responsible for the following:
Design and implementation of various strength & conditioning programs for athletic teams
Oversee and maintain a variety of fitness center equipment
Instruction of proper lifting, spotting and safety techniques
Develop a communication system and schedule with the sports medicine staff members assigned to men’s and women’s hockey, for updates on a student-athletes ability to train/injuries
Meet with division III, head coaches to help design and implement programs for their athletes
Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules as they apply to training teams and individuals in season and out of season

Bachelor’s degree required (Masters preferred)
Minimum of three years of collegiate strength & conditioning experience
Must have one of the following certifications:
NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association Certification) - CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist)
CSCCa (Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association Certification) - SCCC (Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified)
Must have First Aid/CPR/AED certification
Ability to effectively communicate with faculty/staff, University community members and alumni
Must have a philosophy compatible with highly selective academic standards within a Liberal Arts University that supports diversity and inclusion
Must meet the University’s requirements to be authorized to drive a vehicle.
