K-State Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for an ACADEMIC ADVISOR, which is a full-time, salaried, benefits-eligible position.
An example of job responsibilities includes but is not limited to the following:
--Advise student-athletes from particular sports;
--Develop and maintain academic records and reports;
--Assess academic needs of student-athletes and assist with student-athlete academic skill evaluations and academic plan development;
--Work closely with Specialized Learning/Tutorial Program staff;
--Point of contact with respective sport program(s) and administrators relating to academic performance and eligibility status of student-athletes;
--Liaison between student-athletes, campus advisors, faculty and academic department;
--Work closely with registrar and admissions offices relating to evaluation of prospective student-athletes;
--Assist with creation and execution of educational programming for new student-athletes and Student-Athlete -----
--Development programming; and
--Participate in recruiting activities.

Master’s Degree in higher education, academic advising or field related to education and/or intercollegiate athletics at time of application;
Minimum of two years of experience successfully working in higher education academic advising for culturally diverse student populations;
Basic knowledge of NCAA academic requirements and legislation;
Experience managing sensitive confidential materials and information as required by NCAA, Big 12 Conference, State of Kansas, Kansas State University and K-State Athletics, Inc. policy/regulations;
Experience using campus information systems;
Strong organizational, interpersonal, grammar and writing skills, as well as excellent computer skills; and
Experience performing duties successfully with minimal supervision.
Two or more years of experience in academic advising for NCAA Division I student-athletes.

Ability to maintain accurate academic reports and electronic files
