The Colorado Independent Automobile Dealers Association of Colorado (CIADA) is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization comprised of professionals committed to promoting, anticipating and responding to the industry's need for education, information and resources with the goal of improving customer confidence and satisfaction.
Incorporated in 1941, CIADA is the only association in Colorado that provides representation before regulatory agencies and advocates fair legislation on behalf of independent car dealers and their customers. CIADA provides value and opportunity to its members to increase their profitability and business success.
Membership, currently over 1000 dealers, ranks Colorado with the highest percentage of available dealers in the country. CIADA is committed to assisting dealers from the initial dealer application to becoming a dealer to providing ongoing education provided by the CIADA Education & Training Center.
CIADA members must agree to abide by a Code of Conduct and Ethics that requires more than existing state and federal laws. The importance of representing dealers at the State Capitol and with the State Regulating Agencies is a primary benefit of belonging to the CIADA.
The Executive Director is the key management leader of the Colorado Independent Automobile Dealers Association. (CIADA) The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, program and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include advocacy, fundraising, lobbying, marketing, and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors. The ED is responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions. The ED is also responsible for fiscal management that anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Planning and operation of annual budget.
Establishing and maintaining employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operation of the organization.
Serving as CIADA’s primary spokesperson to the organization’s constituents, the media, and the general public.
Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations throughout the country and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance CIADA’s Association’s Mission and Strategic Plan.
Report to and work closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions, membership recruitment and resource funding development and to increase the overall visibility of the Association throughout the country and elsewhere.
Supervise and collaborate with organization staff and professionals retained by the Association.
In coordination with the Board, conduct strategic planning, implementation, and Board development.
Oversee Board organization and committee meetings.
Oversee strategies for marketing and other communications efforts.
Review and approve contracts for services.
Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

2) Financial Performance and Viability: Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.
Responsible for the fiscal integrity of CIADA, to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
Responsible for fundraising and developing other resources necessary to support CIADA’s mission.
3) Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with board and staff to ensure that the mission is
fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach.
Responsible for implementation of CIADA’s programs that carry out the organization’s mission.
Responsible for strategic planning to ensure that CIADA can successfully fulfill its Mission into the future.
Responsible for the enhancement of CIADA’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic and private organizations.
4) Organization Operations. Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.
Responsible effective administration of CIADA operations.
Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff.
Responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization.
