The director, corporate partnerships is responsible for directing the sale of ASHA asset packages to corporations and organizations for the purpose of raising non-dues revenue. The position fosters and manages commercial relationships to maximize the value of saleable assets, including commercial advertising, recruitment advertising, mailing lists, sponsorship packages, ASHA marks and logos, and other exposure opportunities. The position coaches staff and directs the management, marketing and sale of commercial advertising and mailing lists.
Sell assets and corporate marketing packages
Seek out and research potential partners and develop matrices of common goals and needs;
Develop relationships with partners through the creation of customized proposals that include existing assets as well as new and non-traditional assets that address and meet the needs of the buyer and create awareness and benefits for members;
Negotiate and close contracts.
Negotiate and educate staff, leadership and members surrounding sponsorships
Develop relationships with ASHA staff and negotiate the inclusion of assets under various cluster’s purview for marketing and sponsorship by partners;
Educate staff, volunteer leadership, and partners on the dynamics of corporate relationships through both formal and informal means;
Educate members about the value of corporate partnerships through advertising, editorial, and presentations.
Develop strategies and assure implementation
Monitor internal and external fulfillment to assure compliance with obligations and restrictions;
Act as a liaison for partners in developing and maintaining positive interaction with staff and members;
Oversee the collection and use of data as it relates to the sale of assets; pertinent data includes information obtained from and about members, buyers, partners, and other sources;
Develop and implement marketing plans and budgets;
Develop and maintain corporate partnership policies to protect ASHA, members, and corporate partners
Coach Members of the Asset & Recruitment Advertising Team
Coach staff in the development of skills that will enhance their selling capabilities and provide direction and assist in decision making;
Review work plans, including development and management of budgets, pricing, utilization of data, creative design and production, sales goals and the strategies that will be used to achieve those goals;
Motivate and encourage team members in order to create a dynamic and proactive selling environment.
Coach team to deliver excellent customer service and efficient processing of sales information for fulfillment and billing.
Manage critical vendor relationships, including the vendor for the online Career center from a customer (employer) perspective.
Knowledge and skills typically acquired through:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing or related areas preferred.
7-10 years of previous marketing, sponsorship sales and development experience (having procured at least $500k in sponsorships or related fundraising).
Scope and depth of technical skills/knowledge:
Well-spoken and articulate with strong presentation skills;
Strong track record of corporate relationship building and closing deals;
Excellent writing and organizational skills;
Excellent computer skills, especially MS Word suite, spreadsheet programs (i.e. Excel, Lotus);
Demonstrated ability to be an effective negotiator;
Ability to manage and supervise assigned staff;
Ability to coach and lead a sales team.
Experience with Salesforce and marketing automation
Scope and depth of non-technical skills/knowledge:
Strong project management skills and individual initiative;
Good organizational skills with excellent attention to detail;
Works effectively on teams and across departmental boundaries;
Ability/flexibility to travel up to 10 overnight trips per year;
Strong facilitation, team building, and coaching skills;
Demonstrated ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously (while under pressure) and meet deadlines
Additional Salary Information: Salary Range (Non-Negotiable): $125,675 - $139,639
