Direct and coordinate the work of accounting staff in all aspects including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Assign and audit the work of the accounting department.
Prepare monthly financial statements and various detailed analyses.
Manage and coordinate annual budget process, including mid-year review and adjustments.
Review and approve Credit Card Reconciliation, Daily G/L Reconciliation, Monthly Bank Reconciliation, and all adjusting entries necessary to correct errors.
Review and approve reconciliation of daily transactions from Administration System to G/L.
Perform special financial studies, such as bad debt schedules and loan analysis.
Coordinate the month-end and year-end closing process. Assist in year-end audit duties such as spreadsheet analysis and review of expenses and G/L transactions, including review of assets and liabilities.
Assist in preparation and submission of IRS Forms 1099
Monitor adherence to internal controls. Review current procedures and develop sufficient internal controls that follow standard accounting practices.
BA/BS Degree in Accounting
5 – 8 years work experience in all aspects of accounting
Proven supervisory experience with strong leadership skills
Professional knowledge of financial statements and accounting procedures
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
Experience with accounting software, Sage/Peachtree experience a plus
Strong communication skills
Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities
Broad conceptual judgment, initiative and ability to deal with complex accounting issues
Military service preferred
