Evaluate athletic injuries and illnesses sustained by a varsity or club student-athlete. Treat and rehabilitate athletic injuries or illnesses, and refer to other health care professionals as necessary. Fulfill all administrative duties and documentation required for Athletic Training clinic(s) operation. Provides athletic training services for all practices and athletic contests hosted by Endicott College. Includes availability of mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Provides coverage of away contests as determined by the NCAA, Athletic Conference(s), and at the discretion of the Head Athletic Trainer. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the equipment in the Athletic Training clinic(s). Provides supervision and clinical instruction for Athletic Training students. Educate and instruct student-athletes on proper exercise techniques and appropriate training methods. Serve as a mentor for the graduate assistant for strength and conditioning. Comply with all NCAA, Conference affiliated, Athletic Department, industry, and institutional guidelines, recommendations, and regulations. Adherence to the NATA Code of Ethics, NSCA Code of Ethics, and institutional guidelines. Adheres to the state practice act, all NATA, NSCA, and NCAA best practices, and standing orders specified by the team physician.
Qualifications include minimum of a Master Degree in Athletic Training or related area. Possesses national certification from the BOC. Possesses Strength & Conditioning Certification that is accredited by the NCCA, CSCS preferred. Experience with writing strength & conditioning programs and evaluation of student-athletes. CPR/AED Certification. Eligibility for Massachusetts State licensure. Experience with clinical and classroom teaching. Possesses the ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, work in various environmental conditions, and assist injured individuals on/off playing surfaces.
