Sr. Associate Athletics Dir., Resource Development
Position Description: Reporting to the Deputy Athletics Director for External Operations, with a dotted-line report to the CSU Foundation, oversee strategy development and execution of all Cleveland State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics activities in sponsorship sales, sponsorship fulfillment and fundraising (annual, leadership and sport-specific giving). Coordinate media contracts for coverage of athletics event on digital, radio and television outlets. Assist external team with other revenue generation, marketing and public relations activities. Manage other strategic duties as assigned by the Deputy Athletics Director or Director of Athletics. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, 7+ years multi-unit experience in NCAA Division I athletics corporate partnership sales, media rights, and/or fundraising. Track-record of successful revenue generation in fundraising and/or sponsorships. Demonstrated leadership for multiple direct reports, including delivery of impactful professional development activities for supervised staff.
Commitment to NCAA compliance and assisting in delivering a positive student-athlete experience. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to efficiently multi-task and provide responsiveness within and outside of the organization. Ability to travel and work evening and weekend hours as required. Valid driver’s license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the University’s Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree. Previous experience working with, or for, multimedia rights-holder vendors. Relationships with the business community in Cleveland and northeast Ohio. Experience at multiple sub-levels of NCAA Division I, including FBS, FCS, and/or I-AAA.
