Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach. Stevens is a member of the Middle Atlantic Conference’s Freedom Conference and NCAA Division III and offers 25 varsity sports (13 for men and 12 for women), 17 club sports, a wide variety of intramural sports and special events, an extensive outdoor adventure program and a wide selection of wellness/fitness classes. Located in Hoboken, New Jersey, a historic small town that is just minutes away from Manhattan, Stevens has an enrollment of over 3,300 undergraduate students. Position (full-time): Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, and master’s degree preferred. A minimum of two years of previous coaching experience at the collegiate level in men’s lacrosse is strongly preferred. Certification in CPR, First Aid and AED is required and can be attained upon start date. The successful candidate is expected to complete several other trainings and professional development activities as they are offered at the university.
Responsibilities: Assist the head coach in managing all aspects of a highly competitive NCAA Division III men’s lacrosse program. The top priority must be the overall collegiate experience of the student-athlete and enhancing a positive and healthy team culture that encourages growth and development.
Duties include but are not limited to: recruitment of appropriate student-athletes; planning and direction of team practices; scouting of future opponents and film study; tracking of team budgets; oversight of student-athlete academic progress; fund raising and alumni relations; coordination of team travel; and any other duties as needed. A secondary responsibility within the athletic department will be assigned to the successful candidate as well.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
