The CSU, Fullerton Athletics Department is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach whose academic excellence, professional qualities, and experience demonstrates leadership in all areas of sports performance.
Under the general direction of the Director of Strength and Conditioning the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the development and implementation of athletics performance enhancement programs for men’s basketball, other teams, and administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning.
Position: Provide a high-level of service delivery, including but not limited to, the development of athletics strength and conditioning programs for performance enhancement (periodization for strength development, power development, injury prevention, and recovery etc.). Provide effective written and oral communication to student-athletes, coaches, staff, administrators etc. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Strength and Conditioning staff and relevant Athletics Department personnel. Collaborate frequently with licensed and Athletic Trainers regarding the rehabilitation progress and return to participation/play planning of injured student-athletes. Mentor Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistants, Contingent Staff and Volunteer Interns through acquisition and education Provide leadership in administrative areas, as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning Maintain a safe training environment for Cal State Fullerton student-athletes. Maintain a high-level of professional communication between sport coaching staff, athletic trainers, physical therapists, physicians, and sports psychologists. Adherence to all policies and procedures as identified by Cal State Fullerton University Policies, Athletics Department and the NCAA. Flexible working hours to include but not limited to weekends and holidays Travel will be required 10-20% of the time Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning
Strength & Conditioning Assistant Coach
Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, human performance or related field.
A master’s degree or working towards a masters in the related field is preferred.
Relevant Basketball performance training experience strongly preferred
1 to 3 years of experience of relevant coaching experience in the field of strength and conditioning and/or sports performance.
Current CSCS and/or CSCC certification(s).
Current CPR/AED certification.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Working knowledge of basic spreadsheet and processing programs.
