Reporting to the vice president of development and marketing, this position supports the annual giving program within the Board of Child Care's development team. The role requires maintaining a Blackbaud Raiser's Edge database system and generally ensures that donor records are accurate and kept up to date. Also, the position generates analytical reports, performs data cleanups, and pulls mailing lists.
The development associate serves as a link for community members wishing to make in-kind donations and assists with BCC events.
Enters gifts in Raiser’s Edge and ensures that acknowledgments are sent in a timely manner using best practices in fundraising.
Manages donor database retention and follow-up stewardship phone calls for donors at the $10 to approximately $300 level and gift-in-kind donations.
Alerts appropriate staff members when a major gift is received for proper follow-up and stewardship.
Manages recurring monetary gift program for all donors and prospects via Raiser’s Edge.
Ensures monthly draws are completed and that any exceptions or errors gifts are brought to the attention of the appropriate staff member for further donor follow up.
Designs and performs maintenance and data cleanup protocols for Raiser’s Edge including but not limited to deduplication of records, NOCA updates, and other global changes.
Responsible for producing clean, deduplicated mailing lists from Raiser’s Edge given the targeted recipients for the marketing or fundraising piece in question.
Provides accurate, periodic post-appeal analysis and reports to the Vice President of Development and Marketing, executive leaders, and the Board of Directors.
Supports Church engagement manager by generating database reports for the volunteer auxiliary and other church engagement constituents.
Provides support for the Christmas Store and other appeals focused on gifts-in-kind.
Documents and updates policies and procedures within the development and marketing departments’ policy and procedure manuals.
Works as part of a team of support professionals that provide customer service to BCC stakeholders and donor prospects.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Three years’ experience supporting a team or individual in an administrative role.
Two years’ experience working with constituents and/or customers within a CRM database (fundraising software preferred but not required).
Two years’ experience writing and proofreading public-facing correspondence.
Preferred Education and Experience
Two or more years’ experience working with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge CRM specifically.
Three or more years’ experience as a CRM database manager or administrator (certification as such preferred but not required).
Three or more years’ experience working in development, event planning, or fundraising capacity.
