Under the general supervision of the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Services & Compliance, incumbent will lead and manage a high performing Student-Athlete Academic Services (SAAS) team that consists of student-athlete academic coordinators, a learning specialist, and a student-athlete development/academic coordinator.
This position will provide vision and direction to the SAAS staff in coordinating academic services and campus resources for all sixteen intercollegiate athletic programs; provide direct oversight of all functions and programs as they pertain to student-athlete academic achievement, progress toward degree, and eligibility; serve on assigned campus committees and councils to maintain collaborative relationships with on-campus offices and resources; assist compliance in processing and submitting Academic Progress Rate (APR) and Graduation Success Rate (GSR) annually; emphasize welfare of student-athletes in all initiatives; and manage the SAAS program budget.
Master's degree and at least three (3) years related experience are required.
A diverse understanding of issues that affect NCAA Division I student-athletes and experience working with student-athlete academic/student support services preferred.
A successful candidate will possess knowledge of NCAA progress toward degree requirements; NCAA Compliance Assistant software internet program; NCAA Academic Performance Program; and GSR and APR calculations.
Additionally, a successful candidate should also possess the ability to communicate orally and in writing; the ability to exercise good judgment; and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
