Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance, this position is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive NCAA Division I, America East Conference (Big Sky for Men’s Golf and MAAC for Women’s Golf) and institutional compliance program for the University of Hartford.
In all actions, adheres to federal and state laws as they relate to financial aid administration, rules and regulations governing University, America East, Big Sky, MAAC and the NCAA, including assisting in the education process extended to alumni, boosters, regents, friends and the community. Performs all duties in full support of the University’s mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University’s students.
This position works with Associate AD as a liaison regarding NCAA compliance efforts. Will assist in oversight for the Department of Athletics’ NCAA compliance functions. Help coordination and delivery of compliance-related activities, prioritizing student-athlete services and support; reporting efficiencies as well as monitoring and maintaining accurate compliance data. Assists in providing interpretation of NCAA rules and regulations to coaches, staff, administrators, student-athletes and the University community to support the institution’s compliance efforts for 17 Division I sport programs. *
Maintains utilization and operation of the institutional compliance software system in an effort to ensure that all coaches, staff and administrators are up-to-date on how to operate the systems and properly monitor functional usage to review official/unofficial visits, CARA, complimentary tickets, recruiting activity, playing and practice logs, NLIs, declaration of playing seasons, roster management, etc. Triages technical issues as necessary and/or appropriate. *
Assist in the review and evaluation of initial academic eligibility and continuing academic eligibility for student-athletes. Identifies, reports and/or addresses compliance infractions with Associate AD as necessary and/or appropriate. Helps prepare and review academic eligibility documents and financial aid lists for all sports teams for certification purposes. *
Assist Associate AD in Coordinating, preparing and presenting monthly compliance education training classes on a full range of NCAA rules and regulations for coaches, administrators, student-athletes, regents, donors and booster groups. *
