Assists the Head Softball Coach in all aspects of running an NCAA Division III Softball program by teaching and coaching student athletes, recruiting highly selective high school senior athletes, developing and implementing game strategies, and leading physical training and practice organization.
Direct the work of student workers and volunteer assistant coaches.
Serve on departmental committees. Represent the University of Chicago in professional, alumni, and civic functions.
Comply with institutional, University Athletic Association, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Extensive domestic travel required. Secondary departmental responsibilities will be assigned by the Athletic Director.
Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
Excellent communication skills.
Familiarity with NCAA rules and Division III philosophy required.
Excellent verbal and written communication required.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments concurrently required.
Minimum of two years of significant and relevant playing or teaching/coaching experience in Softball at the professional, collegiate, or high school level required.
