The Assistant Director of Development will work directly with senior leadership and is responsible for performing a number of duties in support of advancing the mission and goals of the Institutional Advancement office and McDaniel College. The Assistant Director of Development will report to the Associate Vice President for Development & Leadership Gifts and will provide support to the Executive Director of Annual Giving. The Assistant Director of Development will also interact with and take direction from the Vice President of Institutional Advancement.
Bachelor’s degree preferred; 4-6 years of related experience in an office setting required.
Raiser’s Edge software experience preferred but not required.
Ability to exercise discretion with the utmost integrity in dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software including Outlook required; knowledge of project management software and additional technology preferred.
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills required.
Exemplary planning and management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and meet deadlines.
Understanding of budget process and procedures preferred.
Exceptional customer service skills including phone manner, willingness to help are essential.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends to support programming and events is required.
