The Education Specialist is an integral part of the ACTE Education strategy by visualizing and implementing concepts to bridge ACTE research and educational program activities through various channels including virtual, on-line and in person. The position will ultimately be responsible for development, planning and execution of education content for ACTE events, aligned with the overall education strategy, under limited supervision.
Major Functions & Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Education Specialist is to fulfill and coordinate the development of assigned educational content for designated events, virtual offerings and research projects
Conceptualize and deliver new and innovative education formats
Identify and implement opportunities to connect various adult learning formats with ACTE products and offerings
Support enhancements to virtual education programming, by identifying opportunities for expansion
Support efforts for recruitment and management of volunteer committees
Identify and evaluate relevant content for target audiences, aligned with overall ACTE educational theme and strategy
Select and recruit qualified speakers, content leaders and facilitators
Collaborate with marketing team to best position ACTE programs (virtual and live) through a multi-channel strategy to engage cross-functional and cross-generational audiences.
Support on-site execution of educational programming
This position reports to the Manager of Global Education and may include additional responsibilities related to the association’s educational strategy and portfolio of global educational offerings.
5+ years’ experience in the corporate travel industry, with at least two years in a training or educational capacity.
Understanding of the continuing evolution in adult learning formats, including social and free content, and a natural curiosity for emerging tools and technologies
Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, with high level of tact and diplomacy
Excellent customer service skills to balance competing interests
Demonstrated organizational skills, with a high proficiency for managing multiple projects
The ideal candidate also has an entrepreneurial spirit that encourages new and creative ideas. Candidates must be able to travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%).
Preference will be given to candidates in the Washington, DC and surrounding area. Highly qualified remote candidates will also be considered.
