Position Summary: The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is currently seeking an innovative enthusiastic candidate for an Assistant Director position with our Communications Team. This position develops the communication plan and public relations initiatives for the Gators Track & Field program. This position also collaborates with other Communications Department employees to develop the communication plan and public relations initiatives for the Gators Football team. Works collaboratively with other members of the Communications Department, Marketing & Promotions and GatorVision on the editorial content for the University Athletic Association, Inc. website (FloridaGators.com) and social media outlets. Performs a variety of duties related to promotions and publicity for assigned sports offered through the University of Florida athletic program.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or another Communications related field and two years related professional experience is required. A working knowledge of various communication platforms, Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Design suite is essential. Prior experience in an intercollegiate or professional athletics environment is preferred. The ability to communicate effectively, develop and execute strategic plans and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers is also required. Must have the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as work independently exercising discretion and good judgement while making independent decisions relevant to job responsibilities. The capacity to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds is essential. The ability to work a non-standard work schedule which may include evenings, weekends, holidays and extensive overnight travel is mandatory.
