Lourdes University is currently searching for a Women’s Wrestling Head Coach with coaching and/or playing experience, proven integrity, leadership skills and the ability to motivate student athletes to be successful academically and athletically. This position is responsible for ensuring that all phases of the sports program are managed according to policy and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1.Recruits students and student-athletes as required. Develops and executes recruiting plans including determining which schools/showcases/recruiting events to visit, which student athletes to recruit and scholarship dollars to offer. 2.Responsible for the ongoing teaching and instruction of student-athletes in the performance of their sport such as but not limited to games, practices, individual and team workouts, and conditioning sessions. 3.Supports the mission and vision of the University and respects the University’s Franciscan values and tradition. 4.Monitors the academic development of the student-athlete by functioning as an informal academic advisor who assists with academic problems, facilities tutors and oversees academic study sessions. 5.Remains accessible to the media, alumni, boosters and general public to publicize and promote the athletic department. 6.Knowledgeable and competent with NAIA, WHAC and any other governing body association for rules and regulations as it relates to the sport. 7.Prepares schedules for practices, competition and coordinates team travel within the policies and guidelines of the university and athletics department. 8.Prepares and administer team budget. 9.Hires and supervises an assistant coach, graduate assistant and other staff, while ensuring their compliance with the University’s Mission. 10.Supports the University’s commitment to academic excellence, academic integrity, and the retention and graduation of student-athletes. 11.Communicates effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service. 12.Assists with fundraising and promotion of the team or athletic program as needed 13.Maintains inventory of all equipment, uniforms and supplies. 14.Performs other duties assigned by the Athletic Director
